Outlines

TBRC aims to create detailed web-accessible outlines of all the major works of Tibetan literature. This will allow people all over the world, including Tibetans both inside and outside Tibet, direct access to the immense Tibetan heritage.

An outline is a multi-faceted analysis of works (which can be from one to more than a hundred volumes large) and individual texts within those works, providing title-page title, bibliographic title, running title, headings and subheadings, sections, pagination, authorship, contents, statements summarizing and notes focusing on important points, publishing data (place and date), colophon, sponsors, genre, key words, etc. Listing titles in a collection involves transcribing Tibetan data into extended Wylie System, which allows for extended search capability.

Outlines allow one to navigate online through the contents of a work and then access the searched for portions of the digital texts within the TBRC Digital Library, and display them on screen instantly.
